International Pronouns Day

International Pronouns Day

Today is International Pronouns Day.

It seeks to normalise the use of personal pronouns and is a chance to educate people on the importance of referring to people by the pronouns they determine for themselves.

At The Social Element, we strive to be inclusive.

To celebrate International Pronouns Day, we want to share a number of posts that might help brands think about being more inclusive in their language and the pronouns they use.

In their post in inclusive language in your marketing campaigns, The Social Element’s Technical Solutions Director, Abe Blackburn, takes a look at the brands using inclusive language in their marketing.

They also give some great advice for brands who want to start using more inclusive language, including ways to make small changes that can make a big difference, and how to avoid binary pronouns in marketing, in a post on using inclusive language in marketing.

Our director of insights and research, Sherry Wilcox, talks about her journey to being an ally to LGBTQ+ people.

She’s including using the right pronouns, stepping in when you hear someone being misgendered, and being comfortable using your own pronouns in every day situations. You can read her post on being an ally, here: Being an LGBTQ+ ally.
